IND vs SL 2nd ODI: A change was seen in the spin department of the Indian team in the second match being played at Eden Gardens between India and Sri Lanka. In this match, chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was made a part of the team in place of magical spinner Yuvvendra Chahal. In this match Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. Apart from the Indian team, there was a change in the visiting team. Nuwanidu Fernando made his debut in this match for Sri Lanka. Captain Rohit Sharma replied regarding the change in the Indian team. He told that he (Chahal) was injured while fielding in the first ODI.

Talking after the toss, Rohit Sharma said, “I was in two thoughts. Looking at the last match, I wanted to bat, but looking at the pitch, I wanted to bowl. When you are in that mindset, it is good for you to lose the toss. I love playing here. It’s always energetic and it takes your game a little higher. But what happened in the past is in the past and as a team we need to start afresh.”

He further said, “We had to make a change. Chahal dived in the last match and he was not well this morning. Kuldeep Yadav has come in his place in the team. After this, it was also told by the BCCI that Karan Chahal was not present to be selected in the team due to shoulder pain.
